Abstract

Islam's first wave of victory in the Indian sub-continent came through Sindh when the conqueror of Sindh, Muhammad bin Qasim Thaqafi, and a handful of righteous people from all over Sindh entered Sindh and saved the people from the oppression of Raja Dahir in 712 AD. A crescent flag was hoisted over the area. Muhammad bin Qasim conquered the Multan region and laid the foundation of the Islamic Empire in the Indian (and Pakistani) subcontinent. Although this empire could neither be more stable, nor could it last for a long time due to the internal disturbances of the Muslims, it was enough that Sindh started to be called Bab-ul-Salam, and the way to this region was open forever and the arrival of Muslims started in the great Pak-India. In the twelfth century Hijri, the family of the famous great Muhaddith, commentator, and biographer, Makhdoom Muhammad Hashmi Thattwi along with Muhammad bin Qasim Thaqafalso entered Sindh in connection with Jihad. Some members of his family went back to Arabia and some settled permanently in Sindh for the purpose of propagating Islam. The present study is a critical review of the mystical (Sufi) thoughts of Makhdoom Muhammad Hashmi Thattwi
