Abstract

The Sufi masters are not satisfied with explaining to the people the rulings and etiquette of the Shari’a by theoretical speech, but in addition to that, they take the hand of their disciple, walk him in the paths of promotion, accompany him in all stages of his journey to God Almighty, surround him with their kindness and care. High in their determination and great in their sincerity, they remind him of the message when he forgets; they guide him when he deviates; they inspect him when he misses; and they revitalize him when he lapses. And here we present, in this article, the significance of companionship, benefits, effects, with evidence from the Book and the Sunnah and the sayings of modern scholars.
