Abstract

Sufism is the name of strengthening the relationship between the Creator and the creatures. Through their practical life, the Sufis lit the lamp of love of Islam among the people. Unfortunately, with time, some un-Islamic ideologies and beliefs merged into Sufism, due to which Sufism became the target of criticism. Hazrat Shah Waliullah pointed out the heretical leaders and forbade them to take allegiance. He balanced and moderate thoughts. He was against the ignorant Sufis. He called them ignorant and virtuous sellers and considered them the cause of the decline of the Ummah. Perfection was moderation and balance and he never deviated from the path of moderation. The reformation of Hazrat Mujaddid Alf-Sani is the central role in Sufism. He pursued the ignorant and crude Sufis and exposed their ideologies and thoughts. He taught them to follow Shaykh Kamil and to avoid Shaykh Naqis. He considered the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) as the standard and urged them to follow it and not give the status of argument to the revelation of the Ahl al-Batin. He also strongly condemned the claim of the repeal of Shariah rules after acquiring knowledge and awareness.
