Abstract

Allama Muhammad Iqbal infused a new spirit into his nation through his poetry. He not only awakened his nation from deep slumber but also goaded it to gird up its lines. Verily, his life-giving poetry played a foundational role in paving the way to demand, strive and finally to establish an independent state for Muslims of the Indo-Pak Subcontinent. His thoughts which mainly reflected in his poetry, were inspired by the eternal message of Islam and Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Sufis were the people who dedicated their lives to enlighten the world with the reality of the Truth and the reality of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Allama Iqbal very aptly harmonized their thoughts in consonance with the demands of modern times. A thorough study of his poetry reveals that Allama Iqbal was a true interpreter of Sufis in highlighting the Haqeeqat e Muhammadia in its true spirit.
